What does Blinkit really pay you per unit?

Commission climbs with your price, storage grows with every day a unit sits, and GST lands on top of all of it. Put in one listing and see the settlement, your profit, and whether a small price change would leave you with more.

Filled with a typical ₹799 listing. Change it to yours; the answer updates as you type.

How it works

Five fees, then GST on all five.

Every Blinkit order can carry five deductions before you see a rupee. GST is then added on the total of those fees, not on your price.

Commission

A share of the selling price that steps up in slabs as the price rises. Not one rate across your catalogue.

Inwarding

A small flat charge per unit for receiving your stock into the dark store network.

Storage

Charged per unit, per day held, and it rises the longer a SKU sits unsold.

Fulfilment

Picking, packing and the last-mile delivery. Flat per unit, so it hurts cheap SKUs most.

Returns

Only when a unit comes back. Added on top of the sale you already lost.

Worked example

A ₹299 product, ₹150 landed cost, 10 days in storage, no return

The flat ₹50 fulfilment fee is the biggest deduction here, bigger than the commission. That is why quick commerce margins are much tighter on cheap SKUs than on ₹1,200 listings, even though the commission rate is lower.

  • Commission (2% slab)₹5.98
  • Inwarding₹5.00
  • Storage (10 days × ₹1.00)₹10.00

Four ways to keep more of each sale

  1. Watch the slab edges. ₹701 pays 13% commission, ₹700 pays 6%. That one rupee adds about ₹58 in fees and GST.
  2. Sell through in under 15 days. Storage is charged on every open unit, every day.
  3. Avoid very cheap packs. Flat fees stay the same at ₹99 or ₹999, so they eat small packs alive.
  4. Price before you list. Run each new SKU through this calculator before you send stock.

Questions

Blinkit fees, answered

How much commission does Blinkit charge sellers?

It is not one flat rate. It steps up with the selling price: 2% up to ₹500, 6% from ₹501 to ₹700, 13% from ₹701 to ₹900, 16% from ₹901 to ₹1,200, and 18% above ₹1,200. The calculator picks the slab for you.

What is Blinkit's storage fee?

A per-unit charge for every day a unit sits in a dark store: ₹1.00 a day for the first 30 days, ₹1.25 from day 31 to 60, and ₹1.50 after that. Slow-moving SKUs pay the most.

How is the settlement worked out?

Settlement is the selling price minus commission, inwarding, storage, fulfilment, any return fee, and GST on all of those fees. Your profit is that settlement minus your landed product cost.

Is GST charged on Blinkit's fees?

Yes, usually 18%, charged on the total of the fees, not on your selling price. It is the line most sellers forget to budget for, and the calculator adds it automatically.

What take rate should I plan for?

Most FMCG sellers on quick commerce plan for fees and GST to take 30% to 40% of the selling price. Well above that usually means the price is too low for the flat fees, stock is sitting too long, or returns are too high.

Are these Blinkit's current rates?

They follow Blinkit's public 2026 seller rate card. Individual seller agreements can carry different rates, so check yours and change the fee boxes under "Your contract rates" if they differ.
